Keith Richards Apologises To Mick Jagger Over 'Completely Out Of Line' Comments

Keith Richards has issued an apology to his Rolling Stones band mate Mick Jagger following some controversial comments he made in a recent interview. 

Speaking with WSJ Magazine, the legendary guitarist touched on Jagger becoming a father at 73 years old for the eighth time in late 2016. 

"Mick’s a randy old bastard," Richards said in the interview.

"It’s time for the snip—you can’t be a father at that age. Those poor kids!"

In a statement posted to Facebook, Richards apologised for the comments. 

"I deeply regret the comments I made about Mick [in the WSJ] which were completely out of line," the statement reads.

"I have of course apologised to him in person."

The rocky relationship between the iconic musicians has been highly publicised. In a recent interview on The Music's Producer Series podcast, mega producer Steve Lillywhite, who produced the band's 1986-released album, Dirty Work, spoke about the tension.

"In the total time that album took, I think they were both together no more than a couple of hours," Lillywhite said.

He continued, "Keith didn't know who I was and then after about a week, I was definitely on Keith's team because he was just more cool..."
