Paul Kelly & Jen Cloher Head Up AMP's Best Album Of 2017 Shortlist

The shortlist for the 13th Australian Music Prize Best Album of 2017 has been announced this morning and it has included some of Australia's best and favourite acts.

Albums in the running for the 2017 gong include Jen Cloher’s self-titled album, Paul Kelly’s Life Is Fine and Beaches’ Second of Spring just to name a few.

The prestigious award comes with $30,000 in prize money and has previously been taken out by the likes of AB Original, Courtney Barnett, and Big Scary.

This year’s winner will be announced on 9 March at a ceremony in Melbourne as part of a new partnership with the Victorian Government which will see the awards call the southern state home for the next two years.

“Victoria is the heart and home of live music and we are very proud to have secured the Australian Music Prize in Melbourne for the next two years,” Victoria’s Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley said.

“The Prize adds yet another string to Melbourne's musical bow – and we can’t wait to honour these incredible shortlisted artists and acts in March.”
