Gibbons releases statement.
UPDATE:
Promoters for Billy Gibbons' Australian tour have slammed claims by the ZZ Top guitarist that he was not booked to perform during the run.
The Brewer Brothers issued a statement posted to Facebook today.
"The Brewer Brothers sincere apologise for fans that have been disappointed by Billy Gibbons' appalling performance in his recent shows in Australia," the statement reads.

"Gibbons was clearly engaged to perform the same show he did for the Brewer Brothers in 2016 at the Gold Coast Arts Centre..."
The promoters said they will post documents regarding the tour on the Facebook page.
ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons has responded to the overwhelming negative feedback from his recent solo shows in Australia, claiming "no musical component" was ever called for when he agreed to do the tour.
Fans demanded refunds from the guitarist's concerts in Wollongong and Newcastle this past week, following claims he performed just three songs at some of the concerts and appeared disinterested.
Police were called to Gibbons' Newcastle gig on Wednesday night after fans became unruly due to the musician leaving the stage after just 45 minutes.
Gibbons abruptly cancelled the remaining date of his tour on Thursday.
"Audience expectations regarding Billy Gibbons' role as a performing musician in the recent Up Close & Personal dates through Australia seem not to have been in line with what he was asked to do when his services were engaged last year," a statement published on Gibbons' Facebook page this morning reads.
"Mr Gibbons was contracted to appear on those dates to discuss his passion for custom cars and hot rods with Jimmy Shine and to sign autographs and greet fans with no musical component called for or anticipated in the arrangement.
"It should be noted that, based on that understanding, he didn’t even bring, nor did he request musical equipment appropriate to such a performance."
The statement alleges that the tour was incorrectly promoted to fans.
"It appears that these dates were promoted in such a way as miscommunicate to ticket holders that a substantial musical performance would be part of these events," the post continues.
"Billy Gibbons, ever the consummate professional, had not planned nor prepared that kind of program and regrets that his role in those dates appears to him been grossly misstated."
The Music has contacted promoters for comment.
