Speaking on the brand new episode of 'The Music Podcast'.
Guy Sebastian has revealed he is looking to pitch a brand new music TV programme that would showcase established and emerging acts.
Appearing on this week's The Music Podcast With Dave & Neil, the acclaimed Aussie singer touched on comments he made last year that reality TV singing competitions are now "manufactured television".
Instead of trying to find Australia's next pop star, Sebastian says he wants to create a show that would champion artists from all genres.
"Why isn't there a show where, like, Tina Arena and Barnsey and myself and Jess Mauboy and Dean Lewis and Katie Noonan, Kate Miller-Heidke, these insane singers that we have in this country, why is there not a show here that showcases what everyone does? Why is there not a house band on a show that literally showcases all of this stuff?" Sebastian said on the podcast.

He continued, "I want to pitch something because I want to get music on television where it's credible, anyone will jump on from indie to pop, it's not discriminatory.
"Because in this climate, we've got triple j who owns that kind of world and if you get a little bit too pop for triple j, they won't touch you. If you're a bit too indie, pop radio won't touch you.
"There's a lot of music that falls in-between of those two things and it sort of gets cast to the side.
"People are reproducing their content to fit those formats and I just think we should have a little but more freedom to create what we want."
