The 14-year-old appeared on John's radio show.
John & Ruel together in Sydney this past September
Just months after playing his track on air, Elton John has continued to praise young Sydney artist Ruel in a new interview on his Beats 1 radio show, Rocket Hour.
John, who met Ruel during his Australian tour this past September, caught the 14-year-old singer on the phone this week as he prepared to head off to school.
"You have the most amazing voice I've ever heard from a male singer at 14 years of age and it's quite incredible," John said.
"I told you that when I listen to the song (Don't Tell Me) and sort of analyse it, there's a lot of James Blake in there. You're not a Justin Bieber type of 14-year-old."

The UK music legend went on to discuss Ruel's recent supporting slots for Angus & Julia Stone and Khalid's own headline tours.
"I'm going to be pushing your record to all the other Apple people and say, 'Come on, play this record, play this record, play this record.'"
