It's certainly a head-scratcher.
Just days after radio ratings crowned them the number one breakfast show in Melbourne, Gold 104.3 FM’s Jo Stanley and Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann have been given the boot.
As reported by Mumbrella this morning, ARN confirmed that they will not be renewing Lehmann and Stanley’s contracts for the show that they’ve co-hosted since 2015.
The news follows the release of last week’s radio ratings which saw the duo surge 0.7% from last survey's results to give them an 8.4% audience share, making them the most listened to breakfast radio show in Melbourne.
The pair started the year with an audience share of 6.4%.

“Jo & Lehmo are professional, talented and entertaining broadcasters who have made a significant contribution to Gold 104.3 over their time with the station.” national content director Duncan Campbell said in a statement
Following the news, Lehmann took to Twitter to voice his and Stanley’s disappointment in a joint statement.
“We are disappointed as we love Gold 104.3 and we love our team. We have both worked incredibly hard and the show’s ratings have grown consistently, culminating in becoming Melbourne’s number 1 FM breakfast show in the latest survey.”
Safe to say, @RealJoStanley and I are pretty disappointed but grateful for all the opportunities. Here is our official statement: pic.twitter.com/F3su9Yq1W6

Lehmann and Stanley will stay on air until the end of 2017, with replacements yet to be announced.
This is the second controversy to come out of last week’s rating with tensions rising between 2Day FM’s breakfast host Em Rusciano and shock jock Kyle Sandilands after Sandilands slammed Rusciano’s less than desirable ratings outcome.
Australian media personalities have come out in support of the pair, tweeting their disbelief at the decision.
Two fabulous folks finishing at number one. Yep it's a crazy business. Well done Lehmo and Jo. #actualgold

Absolutely bollocks news and I'll miss hearing both your wonderful voices on the radio. But I can't wait to see what you both do next!

For the love of God what madness! I loved being ‘interviewed’ ( I use the term loosely) by you and jo - it was always pure fun. Good wishes to you both. NUMBER 1 breakfast radio-ers!
