A replacement has already been announced.
The curse of 2Day FM's breakfast slot continues after co-host Harley Breen announced this morning that he would be departing the Em Rusciano with Harley Breen show at the end of 2017.
As noted by News.com.au, Breen confirmed on air that he is quitting the show to commit more time to his stand-up comedy.
"… I'm heading back to the fiscally responsible job of being a touring stand up — very smart," Breen joked.
"It's by no means an easy decision, but it's absolutely the right one.

"I love a lot of things that I've been fortunate enough to have in my life. I love my fiancee… I love my boys and raising them with my mate and I love stand up. So I've made the choice to give those things my full attention going into the future."
Breen continued, "I'm grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given, and grateful to you Em for vouching for me - nay, for flat-out forcing me on the people of Sydney. I'd not be sitting in this chair if it wasn't for you."

The Hit Network's Head Of Content, Gemma Fordham said in a statement given to The Music today, "Harley has been a terrific Yin to Em’s Yang and he'll continue to be a friend of the show.
"We love Harley and wish him all the best."
Breen is to be replaced next year by Ed Kavalee; regular panellist on Channel Ten's Have You Been Paying Attention? and former host of Triple M Brisbane breakfast show, Marto, Ed & Robin.
"I'm very excited to join The Hit Network and the 2Day FM Sydney Breakfast show with Em," Kavalee said.
"Bring on 2018. We are really looking forward to it. I just hope my old room at my share house on Cleveland street is still available."
Meanwhile, Rusciano said of her new co-host, "I'm bloody pumped to have the talented, funny and clever human that is Ed Kavalee joining the show in 2018.
"As long as he doesn’t object to me blatantly using the show to sell my comedy concerts (Evil Queen tour on sale now!), books (my memoir: Try Hard is on sale now!) and musical downloads (new single Brand New Day out now!) - we're going to get along just fine.
"Bring on 2018, I’m excited, it’s going to be low key hectic."
The news comes after Brusciano and Breen struggled to lift numbers for 2Day FM this year, who replaced the axed Rove & Sam show at the beginning of the year.
