“This is a truly groundbreaking event for Sydney."

The latest addition to Sydney’s festival calendar will see live music combined with an epic snowboarding competition and 16-story snow ramp at The Domain next August.

The first name that might come to mind when picturing such a glorious partnership between the two is Shaun White, so it’s fitting the two-time Olympic gold medal snowboarder is behind Air + Style Sydney.

The three-day event will debut in Australia from 3 – 5 August, after previously setting up in Innsbruck, Beijing and Los Angeles, and while no acts have been confirmed for the line-up, past stages have hosted Flume, TV On The Radio, Portugal The Man, Kendrick Lamar and more.

Over 60 pro snowboarders and skiers will appear during the event, utilising a snow-covered ramp in the middle of Domain, and there will also be technology and fashion on display.

"I am so proud of how this has come together – the best snowboarders and skiers in the world, a diverse music line-up and a festival of culture right in the middle of one of the world’s iconic cities,” White said.

Moore Sports International CEO Jason Moore pointed out it’s the first time a Big Ramp event like this has ever been held in the Southern Hemisphere.

“This is a truly groundbreaking event for Sydney,” he said.

“We’re anticipating strong interest from interstate and international snow sports fans.”

Tickets go on sale today at 9am AEDT via the Air + Style website.
