Music legend Tom Petty is reportedly fighting for his life in a Santa Monica hospital, according to TMZ.
Reports of the rock legend's death, which The Music also reported on, has been clarified by LAPD police.

The 66-year-old was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest in his Malibu home on Sunday night.

According to CBS News, the rock frontman was rushed to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital where he was put on life support.
TMZ have since reported that the family placed a do not resuscitate order on Petty.
Though he rose to fame in the '70s with his band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, the Florida-born artist also enjoyed solo success, which included hit track, Free Fallin'.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
