Macklemore wasn't far behind

More The Killers More The Killers

AFL pre-show headlining act The Killers have scored a #1 debut on the ARIA Albums Chart with their new album, Wonderful Wonderful.

It’s the band’s second top-charting album since their 2004 debut offering, Hot Fuss, which featured Mr. Brightside, Smile Like You Mean It and more.

The Las Vegas rockers – who last night played a secret show in Melbourne – were up against NRL grand final act Macklemore, who caused quite a stir this past week after announcing he would perform equality anthem Same Love during the event tomorrow at ANZ Stadium.

With the song itself rocketing up the iTunes Australian charts during the week to hit #1, Macklemore’s latest LP, Gemini, has scored a #3 debut on the Aus charts, just behind last week’s #1, Foo FightersConcrete And Gold.

Angus & Julia Stone hold onto a top five placing with Snow, while fellow Aussie favourites British India score a #12 debut with their new album, Forgetting The Future, sitting alongside Van Morrison’s Roll With The Punches at #11.

The Aussie love continues as King Parrot swoop into #21 with Ugly Produce and Fanny Lumsden's Real Class Act claims #23.

Other notable debuts come from The Bronx’s seventh self-titled LP (#26), Fergie’s Double Dutchess (#39) and Cradle Of Filth’s Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay (#53).

Over on the Singles Chart, Post Malone’s 21 Savage collab Rockstar has jumped up to #1, while Sam Smith’s hit Too Good At Goodbyes has been bumped to #4.
