St Kilda Fest Is Offering Local Acts The Chance To Play In 2018, But Best Be Quick

Ten lucky artists will be chosen to perform at next year's event.

The annual St Kilda Festival is already making preparations for next year's event, and Australian acts are eligible to apply for a shot at playing on the 2018 New Music Stage.

Applicants best be quick, though, as there's only one day remaining until entries close at 5pm tomorrow, 28 September.

The opportunity is nothing to sneeze at, being that the St Kilda Festival is billed as the country's largest free music festival. Ten acts will be selected from the pool to perform on the New Music Stage, and the artist that really impresses the audience and is named as crowd favourite will go on to win $5000 and a main-stage spot in 2019.

The competition is open to Australian artists not currently receiving financial assistance from a record label. Previous acts to have played the New Music Stage include 2016 winners That Gold Street Sound, Client Liaison, Husky and The Cactus Channel, among others.
