The eclectic Melburnian artist's first LP has been a long time coming.
Melbourne's Ecca Vandal has let loose with a massive dollop of news this morning, announcing the release details for her long-awaited self-titled debut album alongside a new single and 10-date headline national tour.
The 12-track album, which was co-produced by Vandal and her band member Kidnot, will land on Friday 20 October through Dew Process/UMA. It features some pretty damn impressive collaborations, too, including with Dennis Lyxen of Refused and Letlive's Jason Aalon Butler (Price Of Living), Aussie producer Moonbase (Dead Wait), and incendiary singer-songwriter Sampa The Great (Your Orbit, co-written with eclectic US artist Darwin Deez).
Ahead of the album's release, she's lifted the veil on another track to complement recent single Broke Days, Party Nights in the form of the churning, thunderous Future Heroine, a track that canvasses "the death of a releationship where addictions win and take priority over love, health and happiness", Vandal said in a statement accompanying the single and video's release.
"In the video, I play the role of the persistent voice in my lover's head, from two very opposing perspectives," she said.

Vandal co-directed the clip with Melburnian filmmaker Amy Dellar (Indoor Fountains), with the muso remarking that she "was really proud that the extended crew we put together was predominantly female".
"So far, I've only been on film sets where men dominate, so it was very exciting to see women ruling," she said. "I reckon every aspect of the process becomes sweeter when the team happens to be spearheaded by females."
Once the album's out in the world, Vandal will set off for her sizeable tour around the country before heading over to the UK in December to support Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes on a run of shows.
She starts off in Fremantle, on Friday 3 November, before heading to Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Gold Coast, Coolum, Brisbane, Ballarat and Melbourne.
Tickets for the tour are on sale now; Vandal will also be performing at this year's Falls Festival events around the country.
