More like LIFE Is Nice, amirite?
Stalwart Melburnian dream-slinging shoegazers Lowtide are having a pretty bountiful run at the moment, signing with most-excellent indie label Rice Is Nice to release their new single, Alibi, ahead of a bloody European tour.
The tune is set for official release tomorrow, 4 August and, we have to say, it is fucking divine. Glistening, even. It was recorded at Abbotsford's Aviary Studios with Matthew Hosking, and proves a natural next step for the band's well-established penchant for crafting effortlessly lush numbers that just plain warm you to the core (even though this one happens to be about relationship burnout).
The new deal and fresh single both come in the immediate lead-up to the band's debut European tour, which kicks off in Brighton at the end of the month and includes further outings through England, Scotland and the Netherlands over the ensuing fortnight.
There's a degree of bittersweetness, however, as this burst of activity comes not long after the band quietly announced the departure of bassist/vocalist Giles Simon.

Lowtide have also finished work on their follow-up to their 2014 self-titled debut full-length, saying that they are "so looking forward to sharing it with you in the near future".
If Alibi is any indication of the quality to come, we're equally as excited to hear it.
Lowtide will launch the single with a how at Northcote Social Club before they set off overseas; that gig goes down on Friday 25 August, with support from No Sister and The Great Outdoors.
