And they've already sold out multiple shows
Nostalgia is a pretty powerful force, as within hours of renowned alt-metal outfit The Butterfly Effect announcing their intention to reunite their classic line-up for a 2018 national tour, multiple shows have already sold out, resulting in additional performances being added in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The shows represent the return to the fold of best-known vocalist Clint Boge, who joins founding members Kurt Goedhart (guitar) and Ben Hall (drums), along with longtime bassist Glenn Esmond for the run, which kicks off on the left coast at Bunbury's Prince Of Wales on Thursday 1 March.
The extensive reunion tour also takes in outings in Fremantle, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Brisbane. (Both Melbourne and Brisbane have sold out entirely.)
The band have been actively reminiscing about past tours on their Facebook lately, so it's obvious that the itch has been waiting to be scratched for some time now, and comes after an extended period of tumult for The Butterfly Effect, which Boge departed in 2012 under less-than-amicable circumstances.

However, time is known to heal all wounds and, four years after the band's sole single release with replacement vocalist Paul Galagher — and just under a year after they announced their total disbandment — it would appear that 2018 is all set to end up being the Year of the Butterfly.
Whether the reunion will result in a follow-up to 2008's third and so far final album, Final Conversation Of Kings, remains to be seen, but we'll just take whatever good news we can get — and a tour of this ilk is pretty damn good news.
Tickets for all shows are available now; see theGuide for a full rundown of dates, venues and other booking information.
