Beam us up and book us in for the Sydney Film Music Festival!

The three day film music festival offers concert goers a unique experience to see classic film and tv scenes scored in live time, with a full symphonic orchestra. Kicking off on 13 October, the festival's inaugural run will be celebrating everything from Star Trek to Gladiator to family favourite Dreamworks pics.

The Ultimate Voyage brings together 50 years of sound and vision from Star Trek's film and tv history, with clips and scores from the original series and newer fan favourites. Ridley Scott's 2000 classic Gladiator will be bought to life with Hans Zimmer's Oscar winning score performed simultaneously alongside. The music of Dreamworks' kid friendly classics like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon will bought to life on the closing day of the festival.

Curator Scott Mesiti shares “Music provides the emotional heartbeat of film and to bring together the two worlds to create an even greater experience for the senses is a real privilege.”
