Brisbane band VOIID are in the midst of a pretty massive month as it is — they've been heaps busy of late with a bunch of shows up and down the coast all July — but it just got bigger for them with the news that the ascendant four-piece have signed with veteran booking/touring agency Premier Artists.

Part of the Mushroom Group, PA has been around for over 40 years and cares for an absolutely staggering number of emergent and established Australian artists, including a growing number of punk and alternative acts such as CLOWNS, Amyl & The Sniffers, Private Function and Pagan, among others.

It's little surprise, then, that they would turn their attention towards this super-fun garage-punk outfit, who've already chalked up support slots for the likes of Skegss, The Gooch Palms, Bleeding Knees Club, Drunk Mums, The Pinheads and Dumb Punts and appeared on the bill for Deadlam and The Blurst Of Times festivals in addition to staging their own headline shows.

VOIID were approached by Premier Artists agent and veteran promoter Glenn Stewart, and it didn't take long for the group to reach excited consensus on coming aboard, band manager Carly Packer told The Music.

"When we first got the email from Glenn, it didn't really register what was happening, but after getting a few messages from the girls that just read 'Oi Glenn Stewart is fucking sick,' 'YEEEEET SKRTTT,' and 'Can we not say no to that,' it was pretty straightforward," she said.

"We were all really excited about it, and Glenn seemed just as excited. I feel like if all six of us had been in the same room in that moment, it would have just been a lot of screeching and yelling and hugging."

VOIID have a couple of other gigs to knock over in the next few weeks on you're keen on getting out and seeing Premier Artists' newest signees in action; they're heading down to NSW to play two shows with Wavevom at the Cambridge (28 July) and Botany View (29 July, also with Totty) hotels. See theGuide for details.

Or, if you want to give them a listen from the comfort of your bedroom (or wherever), their debut EP Pussy Orientated landed back in December, and is available on Bandcamp.
