Brisbane's WAAX will join them for the run
Seminal 2000s pop-punk-turned-stadium-rock four-piece Fall Out Boy have announced their return to Australia with a four-date string of licensed all-ages shows.
Joined by Qld rockers WAAX — holy shit, way to go, WAAX — the renowned US act will kick off their run at Brisbane's Riverstage on Wednesday 28 February, heading on to play Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (public holiday gig, aww yeah!).
The run will come in the wake of the band's presently forthcoming seventh studio album, Mania (or M A N I A, if you're precious about it), which is set for release on Friday 15 September via DCD2/Universal.
The album has been preceded by a pair of singles — Young & Menace and Champion — both of which hint at the broadened horizons the band are playing with more than a decade into their storied career. As frontman Patrick Stump explained of the record in a statement, Mania is the "most off-script we've gone … I want to invent something new".
