The seventh edition of the mecca of mirth returns to the Opera House this September
Reinforce those sides, Sydney, because Just For Laughs is hellbent on making you split them when it returns for its seventh go-around later this year, with its first announcement of supremely funny people unveiled today.
Yesterday saw the announcement of festival favourite Rhys Darby's upcoming Oz tour, so no surprises (but a lot of glee) about the fact that he's a part of the Just For Laughs proceedings again.
He'll be flanked by internationally renowned comedians stepping out for their own shows as part of the September proceedings including Scottish comic Kevin Bridges, US stand-up Bert Kreischer, acclaimed French-Canadian funny-man Gad Elmaleh and the mirthful masterminds behind comedy-true crime podcast My Favorite Murder, Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark.
There will also be the usual favourites, with the Just For Laughs All-Star Gala — which has previously welcomed the likes of John Cleese, Eddie Izzard, Louie C.K., Bill Burr, Noel Fielding, Drew Carey and many more — set to return in 2017, with The Comedy Channel screening the fifth season of Just For Laughs Australia: Live, held at the Sydney Opera House's Studio and hosted by Tommy Little.

More announcements are set to be unveiled in the near future, but if you're as excited as we are, you can start making plans anyway.
Just For Laughs Sydney will be held at the Sydney Opera House, City Recital Hall and Enmore Theatre from 11-17 September. Tickets for the first batch of shows go on sale from 9am next Tuesday, 13 June.
