"That vulnerability is very special in music."
With her stunning new single Mended premiering via triple j earlier today, folk pop songstress Vera Blue has unveiled a massive headline tour later this year in support of her highly anticipated forthcoming album.
The news follows on from global hit Private - which was accompanied by a sell-out tour only last month – and will see the Sydney-based artist release her first album as Vera Blue later this year, previously dropping This Music back in 2013 under her actual name, Celia Pavey.
The new ballad from Vera Blue – which is officially out tomorrow – is a powerful and intimate look into her personal life and was co-written alongside acclaimed producers Andy and Thom Mak.
“It was about a relationship that I had a few years ago. It had been a little while since we’d ended it and we hadn’t made amends, said we were sorry,” Pavey explains.

“It’s funny because you think the song is going to be about resolution, but we haven’t quite made it there yet.
“I like relating to people and making them feel what I feel. It’s where I’ve grown to as an artist. That vulnerability is very special in music, being able to open up to your listeners is incredibly important.”
Proudly presented by The Music, the Mended tour will kick off in July and run through to September, with tickets on sale this coming Monday, May 29, at 10am local time.
