The industrial metal icons will be joined for their east-coast shows by their peers in Filter
Seminal industrial-metal outfit Ministry will return to Australian shores to embark on their first-ever headline tour of the country this September and October, joined for their east-coast shows by their peers in fellow iconic act Filter.
The revered, influential outfit has only previously visited the country twice, once during their original tenure for 1995's Big Day Out festival, and 20 years later — following their 2008 dissolution and 2011 revival — for 2015's Soundwave event.
This will be their debut run of headline shows, however, with their set list expected to dip into the band's extensive oeuvre, which spans 13 studio albums from 1983's debut With Sympathy to 2013's From Beer To Eternity.
As the band's co-founder, frontman Al Jourgensen is far and away Ministry's longest-serving member, though keyboardist John Bechdel has been a part of the group since 2007, while guitarist Sin Quirin — who also came on-board for that final year of their first chapter — rejoined in 2014.

Filter, for their part, last played in Australia at Soundwave in 2014, before the release of their seventh and most recent album, Crazy Eyes (2016).
Similar to Ministry, frontman Richard Patrick has been the singular constant for the veteran industrial-rock band, whose latest line-up mostly came together in 2015 with the exception of keyboardist/guitarist Bobby Miller, who joined the year prior.
The compatriots will only team up for shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane; before those outings, Ministry will step out in Perth and Adelaide as well.
Tickets will go on pre-sale this Monday, 22 May, at 9am, via Metropolis Touring. General release will be available from 11am on Tuesday 23 May.
