That was faaaaaaast.
Due to overwhelming demand and due to the fact that pre-sale tickets flew out the door yesterday, Ed Sheeran has announced a number of new shows for his 2018 Australian stadium tour.
The UK songwriter will now perform additional shows at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium, Sydney's ANZ Stadium and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane next March.
The announcement sees Sheeran become the joint-title holder for most stadium shows on a single Australian and New Zealand tour, sharing the record with AC/DC's 2010 run.
"I'm overwhelmed with the response, to match that record is very humbling," Sheeran said in a statement.

"I really can't wait to get down there."
Meanwhile, head of Frontier Touring, Michael Gudinski, said of the news, "Ed smashed ABBA's long standing record in Australia for the most weeks at number one, with Shape Of You, and now he's matched the biggest record in touring.
"He just continues to amaze me as a singer, as a songwriter, as a performer and as a good mate."'
The added shows will be welcome news to fans who missed out yesterday, after scalpers listed tickets online for over $1000.
Tickets for the new dates, as well as the already-announced shows, go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, 23 May.
