"We have to enforce a no liquids rule."
Melbourne boutique festival Piknic Électronik has placed a ban on punters bringing any liquids into this Sunday’s event, including sunscreen, hand sanitizer and perfume following “issues at previous events”.
Taking over Sidney Myer Music Bowl every Sunday since Jan 1, the festival’s final party for the year this weekend will see bag checks and any liquids found will either need to be cloaked or thrown out.
“Piknicers, due to issues at previous events at the venue, we have to enforce a no liquids rule,” the festival said in a statement.
“Cloaking it takes time and slows down the lanes, so we strongly suggest you leave these items at home…sunscreen and free water is provided on site.”
