Celebrated Melburnian punk rockers The Smith Street Band have announced a six-date national run of shows this May and June to support their impending fourth album, More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me.

The boys have pulled together a formidable line-up of supports for the upcoming jaunt too, with revered US outfit Joyce Manor making the trip Down Under to come along for the ride, which will also include the Smithys' city-mates in Ceres and LA-based indie-pop songstress (and SideOneDummy US label-mate) Allison Weiss.

The stacked tour — taking place in some of the country's best-known theatres — will kick off with a licensed all-ages outing at Hobart's Odeon Theatre on Thursday 25 May, going on to a follow-up licensed AA affair in Sydney before a trio of over-18s events across Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. On their way back home, they stop in for the tour's final show — and another licensed all-ages gig — at Adelaide's Thebarton Theatre on Saturday 10 June.

"For this tour, we’re playing the venues that we have always dreamed of playing: we chose big, beautiful theatres because we want these to be big, beautiful shows!" frontman Wil Wagner said in a statement. "We've also expanded our show in order to fully bring these songs to life, this tour is our most ambitious, exciting one yet!"

The tour's namesake album lands in the lead-up to the run, hitting shelves and digital stores on Friday 7 April via the band's own Pool House Records and Remote Control Records. The 12-track LP is billed as The Smith Street Band's most cohesive and mature effort yet, held together by "a powerful narrative … defined by Wagner's heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics and frantic delivery".

Tickets for the More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me national tour will go on sale from 9am this coming Monday, 6 March.
