WA authorities have issued traffic warnings in the lead up to Adele’s Australian debut in Perth tomorrow night, with the suburbs surrounding Subiaco expected to become gridlock as peak-hour traffic collides with punters making their way to the stadium show.
Footage and audio of Adele soundchecking at Domain Stadium surfaced across the weekend, and the unique setup of her 360-degree stage in the middle of the oval has allowed for a record-number 65,000 punters to attend.
The venue usually seats 43,500, with weekend AFL game traffic already causing nightmares, and with numerous street closures planned, the Public Transport Authority has issued a warning to commuters.
“If you are coming from the CBD, the 28th would be a good day to start and finish work earlier, or stay for dinner in the city,” Transperth spokesman David Hynes said.

“We regret that some regular passengers will be impacted by this, but this really is a one-off event which will be a special night for tens of thousands of fans.”
Transperth expects services to be busiest from 5pm – 7:30pm with additional train and bus services running during that time.
Domain Stadium has also advised punters to play ahead and arrive at least an hour prior to Adele’s advertised 7:30pm start time.
