Told you they'd be back

Though some noticed the quiet lack of the AIR Awards in 2016, the Independent Music Awards are back and better than ever in 2017: coupled with a brand new two-day music industry conference.

With support from the newly established Live Music Events Fund by the South Australian Government, which will provide $1.35 million funding for new festivals and events over the next three years, this new industry conference will be held in Adelaide until 2019 at the same time as the Awards.

Like conferences such as BIGSOUND or Face The Music, the AIR Industry Conference will feature panels, workshops and a slew of music industry figures, musicians and tastemakers to network with across July 27 and 28.

The 11th AIR Awards will head to the Queen's Theatre on 27 July, though for the first time six venues around Adelaide will host after-party gigs from some of the city's brightest talents. In July Adelaide will also be alive with events such as the Adelaide Winter Reds Festival, Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival and Umbrella: Winter City Sounds.
