The '90s rockers are well and truly back in action
It’s been a long time between drinks for fans of Perth-born rock legends The Blackeyed Susans, but with the arrival of their long-awaited new LP in March comes a string of headline dates around the country.
Led by honey-voiced singer Rob Snarski, the first new album in 10 years sees chief songwriter and guitarist Phil Kakulas continue to pen instant classics, with guitarist/producer Dan Luscombe help craft the “dreamlike torch songs, bruised ballads and atmospheric rockers”.
The new songs also prove they’re not ready to sit back and ride a wave of nostalgia, which could have been quite easily done with the release of retrospective box set Reveal Yourself in 2009.
The seminal act dished up hits A Curse On You, Smokin’ Johnny Cash and Blue Skies, Blue Sea throughout the ‘90s after coming together from The Triffids, Chad’s Tree and Martha’s Vineyard.
