It was shaping up to be a tight finish and that's exactly how it panned out as The xx were able to beat The McClymonts to top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart.
The UK trio managed to score their first #1 in Australia with their third album, I See You, pushing the Trolls soundtrack back to #2, while The McClymonts' Endless debuted at #3.
This is the country outfit's fourth LP to debut in the top ten.
Other albums to debut on the chart this week include Bonobo's Migration (#12), Run The Jewels' Run The Jewels 3 (#36) Saviour's Let Me Leave, (#51) and One Ok Rock's Ambitions (#57).

Over on the Singles chart there were no surprises as Ed Sheeran's two new singles, Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill took out the top two spots for a second straight week in what looks to be a lengthy stint at the top of the list.
Meanwhile, Pnau's comeback track, Chameleon, has earned the Sydney act their first entry in the ARIA top ten, jumping up five spots last week to land at #10.
The Chainsmokers' latest banger, Paris has debuted at #6, while other new entries this week include Alessia Cara's How Far I'll Go (#27) and Migos' Bad & Boujee, featuring Lil Uzi Vert (#34).
In the global charts, Aussie singer Starley's surge on the UK charts continues thanks to her hit single, Call On Me.
The song has climbed up one spot from last week to place at #7 on the UK Singles chart, while it has also reappeared on the US Hot 100 at #94.
