More Thundamentals More Thundamentals

As Blue Mountains hip hop outfit Thundamentals gear up to release their newest album, Everyone We Know, in early February, they've unveiled plans for an innovative touring art exhibition, tied in closely with the intricate and highly conceptual album cover art by Sydney artist April77 Creative.

The exhibit will be inspired by each song on the new album, represented by a different character and artwork created by April77, aka Ben Funnell, who has designed all of Thundas' previous album and EP artworks.

The band's Tuka says, "For this particular release, early on we knew we wanted a character to represent each of the songs on the album. It was an incredible experience going back and forth, refining each aspect of the front cover … Ben actually designed 15 individual environments for each character and we are so happy with how everything came out — a perfect visual pallet for the entire record!"

The Everyone We Know: Exhibition Tour will head to capital cities during Thundamentals' week of release. Each show will be free where fans will be able to view each song's artwork while listening to the coinciding song from the album. A number of high quality prints will also be on sale, and each night Thundamentals will perform a DJ set with special guests.

Funnell says, "We hope that the artwork is enjoyed while listening to the album and the audience takes the time to uncover these references, as well as search for their own meaning and connection to the music and visual as a whole."

Venue capacity will be capped in each city so arrive early!
