“Today we celebrate love and compassion more than ever."
You could say a lot about Green Day’s transformation since the early ‘90s, and although the progression of their sound has shifted somewhat, their political beliefs remain passionate, as evident in the blistering attack on President Trump through their latest film clip, Troubled Times.
Released on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the US, the video comes from the band’s twelfth record, Revolution Radio, and features a series of prominent political figures, including King Jr., who is crying in numerous shots, while images of the Ku Klux Klan and more are associated with Trump.
“Today we celebrate love and compassion more than ever,” Green Day said via Facebook when unveiling the video.
Back in November, Green Day altered the lyrics in Bang Bang for their American Music Awards performance, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong chanting "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA” in middle of the song.
