He was forced to cancel his show at Falls Fremantle so he could head to the 2017 Golden Globes and though it was devastating for fans it proved to be the right call as Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) scored big, thanks to his hit show, Atlanta.
Having returned to the US from Australia just this past week, the 33-year-old beat out the likes of Nick Nolte (Graves) and Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) to win the gong for Best Performance By An Actor In Televison Series – Movie Or Comedy, while Atlanta also took out the Best Television Series - Musical Or Comedy category.
"I grew up in a house where magic wasn’t allowed, so everybody in here is, like, magical to me," Glover said when accepting his Best Actor award.
"Everytime I saw a movie or Disney movies or heard your voices or saw you, I was like, ‘Oh, magic is from people’.

"We're the ones who kind of, in a weird way, tell a story or a lie to children so they do stuff that we never thought was possible."
Glover also took the opportunity to shout out to US hip hop group Migos when accepting the Best TV Series award, saying, "I really wanna thank the Migos, not for being in the show, but for making Bad & Boujee. That's the best song ever".
