"Bellerive CIB would like to hear from any person who has knowledge as to the identity of any person/s responsible."

The recent woes befalling The Falls Music & Arts Festival's Tasmanian leg have been exacerbated with the addition of two further allegations of sexual assault occurring at the Marion Bay event between 29-31 December.

As noted by News Corp, Tasmania Police posted on Facebook to confirm that they have been informed that — in addition to receiving three previous allegations of sexual assault at the Marion Bay festival — "at least two other women were inappropriately touched at Falls".

The post indicates that police believe there may be further victims who have not spoken up.

"Bellerive CIB would like to hear from any person who has knowledge as to the identity of any person/s responsible for inappropriately touching women or other persons who were inappropriately touched but have not come forward yet," the police wrote.

Bellerive CIB Detective Inspector Stephen Burk said that it is "quite clear" that the alleged attacks stem from a "general belief of a lot of young people … that being inappropriately touched by someone else is what happens in the moshpit".

"My view is: if you're not comfortable treating women like that in the middle of the mall, you don't treat them like that in the middle of the moshpit either," he said in a statement.

Anyone with information regarding the alleged assaults in Marion Bay — or any others that have yet to be reported — is encouraged to contact Bellerive CIB on (03) 6173 2899 or to email Detective Inspector Burk.

Falls was also confronted with a serious incident at its Lorne event, when several people were injured — including 19 who were hospitalised — following a crowd crush on 30 December as people attempted to move between the Grand Theatre and Arena stages.

The festival's organisers have promised to investigate the "confluence of events" that led to the incident at Lorne.

The Music has contacted Falls' representatives for comment.
