"I know that may not seem like a big deal to you guys."
During a show in Sydney last night, US hip hop superstar Chance The Rapper apologised for missing WA festival Origin over the weekend.
The rapper was scheduled to headline the Perth-based New Year’s Eve event alongside Die Antwoord, Pendulum and more before withdrawing last-minute “due to technical difficulties” with his flight, as the festival said.
Chance The Rapper didn’t acknowledge the cancellation or issue an apology, which saw many upset fans taking to social media to demand answers in recent days, but a video has now surfaced from Sydney’s Big Top last night, where it suggests the artist appeared late and included an apology for the WA absence when making good with his NSW audience.
The brief Snapchat video seems to begin with him saying he apologises (cut off) "to your continent, to your country. I missed a show in Perth and I know that may not seem like a big deal to you guys.”

Unconfirmed reports claim that Chance The Rapper had boarded the flight to Perth and was seen disembarking once delays were announced.
The Music has reached out to Origin NYE and tour promoters Live Nation for verification of this.
Prior to Origin NYE, the Chicago rapper performed at Sydney’s Field Day, and an image has now surfaced of him alongside Childish Gambino backstage, sparking hope their highly anticipated joint mixtape might drop this year.
It was also reported that Chance The Rapper lost his voice during Beyond The Valley in Victoria the day before he was meant to play WA.
