"Police will be targeting all patrons, and prosecuting anyone found with drugs, not just dealers."

With the 2017 Field Day just two days away, organisers have issued a statement discussing drug use and how they'll be aiming to reduce harm at the event.

In a statement posted to Facebook on Thursday, organisers say they have trained over "1000 event and bar staff in specific harm minimisation strategies" that include how to identify an intoxicated punter and how to respond to an emergency situation.

It also adds that they will be "offering free entry to the VIP area for the first 100 patrons to complete harm minimisation training at the Red Cross save-a-mate Chill Out Space".

The Sydney-based NYD event is also expecting a "very large drug dog operation at the Field Day entrance".
