Triple J Suffers Tough Outing In Latest Radio Ratings Survey

The results are in.

The seventh survey of the radio ratings have been released today and there has been a few changes this time, while more have maintained dominance  — Melbourne's FoxFM has claimed the FM crown from Gold, Sydney's Smooth FM has held onto #1 yet again and triple j across the country has had a very bumpy outing.

Triple J copped some nasty blows across the board in the latest survey, taking in a weekday share of 5.3 (down 0.4 points), due to drops in the afternoon slot (down 2.1), breakfast (down 1.5) and morning (down 1.1), though there were some nice improvements in the evening slot (up by 2.3) and drive (up 1.5).

While Smooth took out the FM crown yet again with a weekday share of 9.7, KIIS1065 is now hot on its tail, with its weekday share going up by a massive 1.3 points to claim a 9.1 share. 

melbourne

Having been neck-and-neck in recent times, FoxFM have finally pulled in front of Gold to claim an audience share of 10.1, well ahead of Gold in second with a 8.0 share. 

Triple M's Hot Breakfast yet again won FM breakfast bragging rights with a big share of 9.9, ahead of Fox who clinched an 8.5 share.

Triple J  increased its audience share by a minor amount (up 0.3 points to claim a 4.7 share), thanks to bump-ups in the morning slot (up 0.8) and breakfast (up 0.4).

brisbane

Triple J hasn't performed well in the Brisbane market either this time around, with some small and significant drops in some key categories. 

The youth broadcaster's audience share dropped by 0.6 points for an overall share of 7.9, following a big drop in the weekend (down by 1.9 points), evening (down 1.4) and breakfast (down 0.6) slots.

Kate, Tim & Marty on Nova 106.9 have held onto #1 in the drive slot despite falling by 0.1 points, while comedy duo Hamish & Andy again take out second spot on Hit 105, even though they too fell by 0.1 points.

adelaide

The top placings for the drive slot are reversed in Adelaide however, with Hamish & Andy coming in at #1 thanks to a huge increase of 2.3 points to claim a 13.4 share, while Kate, Tim & Marty drop to second with a share of 13.2.

Triple J performed best in this market too, with its audience share going up by 1.1 to score a 6.1 rating. 

Every category enjoyed healthy increases, most notably mornings (up by 1.3), as well as breakfast and afternoons (both up by 1.1 points).

Mix 94.5's Lisa & Pete have continued their dominance in the FM drive market, jumping out to a whopping share of 18.4 (up 2.3), cruising well ahead of Hamish & Andy and Kate, Tim & Marty, who have both scored shares of 12.9.

Triple J again took a beating, with its audience share dropping by 0.8 points for a 9.4 share.

The station suffered hefty decreases in all categories, bar the evening slot, with the biggest drops coming in the afternoon slot (down by 1.5) and mornings (down by 1.2).
