Methyl Ethel Name Australian Dates In Epic World Tour Plans

Well-loved WA larrikins Methyl Ethel are looking to start their new year with as much momentum as possible, announcing today a seriously impressive world tour alongside a handful of local warm-up dates for early next year.

After spending the bulk of their summer gracing the nation's festivals — they hit Woodford Folk Festival, Lost Paradise and Sugar Mountain in the month following Christmas — the respected trio will flex their creative muscles with a hat trick of shows on both coasts. They kick off with a home-town showing in Perth before heading east to take on Melbourne and Sydney ahead of their departure for international shores.

That broader sojourn will see the boys spend the first half of March in the UK and EU, taking in shows in England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. From there, they pop across to the United States and Canada, where they'll knock over 14 shows in less than a month, including in cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Boise, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Washington DC.

Methyl Ethel's raised international profile comes following several months of heightened activity at home and around the world, having clocked up showings at local festivals such as Laneway and Splendour In The Grass, as well as world-renowned events including SXSW, Great Escape, Latitude and many more, as well as having spent the past several months wooing audiences aross Europe and the United States.

It's a trajectory they're sure to maintain in the new year as they continue touting their lauded debut LP, Oh Inhuman Spectacle, and inevitably turn their attentions towards its eagerly awaited successor.
