Mauboy stuns a bunch of heavyweight names
Midweek figures suggested that the race to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart would come down to names like Lady Gaga and Michael Buble, but Australia's Jessica Mauboy has pulled a massive upset out of the bag and blocked the entire pack, clinching top spot again with The Secret Daughter (Songs From The Original TV Series).
Mauboy's placing means that Gaga will have to settle for second spot with her fifth LP, Joanne, the same placing as her previous solo album, Artpop, back in 2013.
Buble's ninth studio album, Nobody But Me, has debuted just one spot behind at #3 (giving him his seventh top three album on the chart), while the late Elvis Presley's The Wonder Of You, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, has come in at #4.
Resurgent nu-metal outfit Korn's 12th album, The Serenity Of Suffering, has also enjoyed a very nice debut at #5, marking the band's first top five album since 2002's Untouchables.

Other top ten debuts includes legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen's critically acclaimed (and our Album Of The Week) You Want It Darker at #6 and US post-hardcore band I Prevail's Lifelines at #8.
Capping off the album debuts this week is The Koi Boys' Meant To Be (#13), Pentatonix's Pentatonix Christmas (#16), Jimmy Eat World with Integrity Blues (#27), Graves' Monster (#29), The Pretty Reckless' Who You Selling For (#33), NxWorries' Yes Lawd! (#48) and the Lazarus original cast recording (#57).
Over in the US, Sydney-formed Christian band Hillsong Worship have made a huge splash in the Billboard charts (after debuting at #2 in Australia last week) by placing at #14 in the Top 200 Albums chart and at #1 on the Top Christian Albums chart.
When it comes to the ARIA Singles Chart, nothing could take down last week's top three (Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur, Starboy, by The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk and Closer, by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey), but Australia's own Peking Duk have enjoyed a very healthy debut with Stranger, ft. Elliphant which has charted at #18.
Elsewhere on the ladder, just a week after they became the first female act to come in at #1 on the UK chart this year, girl group Little Mix have jumped up an impressive 12 spots to clinch #4 with Shout Out To My Ex.
Speaking of the UK charts, Sydney producer Flume is continuing to tear it up overseas, as his latest track, Say It, ft. Tove Lo, has debuted at #69 on the UK Singles chart.
