We have questions
Six albums into her decorated career, multi-talented performer Lady Gaga is set to top the ARIA Albums Chart this week as it begins to take shape in the light of midweek results.
If she does so, it'll be against some stiff competition — with her new full-length, Joanne, Madam Monsterface (is that one right? Still not looking it up) is fending off a top-three charge from Mum's FavouriteTM, Michael Buble, while the late Elvis Presley eyes off a top-five position with The Wonder Of You, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Also angling for a spot in the top five are… Korn?
Really? That's actually incredible. Seriously, good for Korn. Still bringing it (or are they bringing it again after a period of not bringing it? Insight appreciated) on their twelfth album. Huh.
By the same token, though, all those people — a decorated pop star now phoning it in, a vanilla crooner, a long-dead icon and a resurgent nu-metal band — are all set to out-chart legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, who at least should land inside the top 10 with his new full-length, You Want It Darker. He's likely to be joined by the heavy riffs of I Prevail's Lifelines somewhere in that lower-upper echelon.

Meanwhile, The Koi Boys (Meant To Be), Pentatonix (A Pentatonix Christmas) and Jimmy Eat World (Integrity Blues) are all on-course to land inside the top 20. Also keep an eye out for new releases from The Pretty Reckless, Graves and NxWorries, as well as the Lazarus original cast recording.
In the Singles stakes, we should expect to see arrivals from Peking Duk (Stranger, ft. Elliphant), Frenship (Capsize, ft. Emily Warren) and Andy Grammer (Fresh Eyes), though none particularly devastatingly high up the ladder — but UK girl group Little Mix are set to move up into the top five with their single Shout Out To My Ex, with which they became the first female act to top the British singles chart all year just this past weekend.
