Any Blink-182 fan would be well aware that founding member Tom Delonge bailed on the seminal punk trio for a second time early last year to pursue non-music ventures including novels, films, comics and his multimedia company, To The Stars.

The musician has also claimed to be conversing with the US government about some top secret projects and now, thanks to WikiLeaks, we may have some insight as to what it's all about.

According to Spin, the organisation leaked a number of communications belonging to John Podesta, the man currently serving as Hilary Clinton's campaign manager and former Chief Of Staff to Bill Clinton and Counselor to President Barack Obama, two of which were emails sent by Delonge.

It's no secret Delonge is quite the extraterrestrial enthusiast (refer to Blink's 1999 classic, Aliens Exist) and Podesta in the past has himself stated interest in the subject.

The first leaked email was reportedly sent from Delonge to Podesta in October last year.

"I would like to bring two very ‘important’ people out to meet you in DC," Delonge's email reads.

"I think you will find them very interesting, as they were principal leadership relating to our sensitive topic. Both were in charge of most fragile divisions, as it relates to Classified Science and DOD topics. Other words, these are A-Level officials. Worth our time, and as well the investment to bring all the way out to you. I just need 2 hours from you.

The second email, believed to have been sent this past January, shows the Angels & Airwaves frontman discussing the famous Roswell crash, with the email titled "General McCasland" — believed to be a reference to a former Air Force official.

"When Roswell crashed, they shipped it to the laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base," the message reads.

"General McCasland was in charge of that exact laboratory up to a couple years ago."

While the Clinton campaign have slammed the leaks, they did not address Delonge's emails specifically.

The communication between Delonge and Podesta could presumably be linked to Delonge's Sekret Machines book released earlier this year, which he told Entertainment Weekly back in April, "This is not just Tom talking about UFOs again, laughing about it with his fans.

"This is Tom representing 10 people that are of the highest rank and office within the Department of Defense establishment and they are asking me to communicate something that they see as the utmost national security issue that has ever existed. They see it as a global security issue."

Delonge is yet to publicly respond to the leaks.
