Public voting now open

Emerging talent reigns supreme as the 2016 Age Music Victoria Awards nominees are announced and public voting opens, with rising stars Camp Cope and Alex Lahey claiming multiple mentions while rock veterans The Drones are also up for multiple awards.

It’s been a massive year for aforementioned newcomers, dropping debut releases and scoring not only national but international acclaim in a short period of time, with both vying for Best Song and Best Emerging Act while Camp Cope eye off Best Album, Best Band, and Lahey lands a Best Female Artist nomination.

The Drones’ massive 12 months in support of LP Feelin Kinda Free sees them up for five awards, with Kylie Auldist nominated in two categories, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Olympia and more scoring praise.

Voting is now open for the public voted categories until Nov 4, with the 11 genre-based category winners decided by a panel of industry experts.
