Finalists Announced For 2016 Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition
Three winners to be announced this month.
The annual Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition is officially in the home stretch for 2016, with the finalists today being revealed just weeks before the winners are to be crowned.
To commemorate APRA AMCOS' 90th birthday, 90 songs have made the shortlist and are now in the running for a $50,000 first prize, $10,000 second prize and $5000 third prize.
Amongst the finalists this year are a number of established talent such as Josh Pyke, Sheppard, Jarryd James and Urthboy, as well as a few up-and-coming names like Tash Sultana, Sampa The Great and triple j Unearthed winner Gretta Ray.
Seven artists in the pack have also had two of their songs shortlisted including Client Liaison, Emma Louise, Gordi, Katrina Burgoyne, King Social, Louis Schoorl and Oh Pep!.
