"She has one of those incredibly special and rare voices."
Empire Of The Sun/Pnau's Nick Littlemore has opened up about an upcoming project he's working on, a set of collaborative albums with "all sorts of people" under the name The 2 Leaves Project, with up-and-coming starlet Vera Blue the first artist on his list.
Speaking to The Music, Littlemore explained, "Music has been so incredible giving to me and that’s why I’m trying to give back now I’ve just started a small independent record label.
"I’m starting to make collaborative albums with all sorts of people from Australia and the UK and United States and other places too and I’m trying to give – not only [to] people who haven’t had many opportunities … [I want] to do something different and something freer and not so commercially driven... it’s more about the beauty of music."
Referring to Vera Blue — real name Celia Pavey — as "a wonderful and true spirit, a musical angel", Littlemore says their first album together is due out in a few weeks. He says it's "a very exciting, magical record".

"When I first found out about her about five, six years ago I just really, really wanted to do something with her," Littlemore laughs. "I wanted to do something that was purely artistic, but still very listenable, but then again I think she could sing pretty much anything and it would be pretty engaging, I mean, she has one of those incredibly special and rare voices."
Last March, Littlemore also revealed a project with The Vines' Craig Nicholls called White Shadows, another collaborative project involving an array of all-star musos such as Boy & Bear, Kirin J Callinan and Jagwar Ma.
