Musos and media will face off for a cause at Pine Rivers Showground on Sunday
The final Reclink Australia Community Cup event for 2016 will be held this weekend in Brisbane, and this week's team announcements have revealed a swathe of local and interstate legends stacking the decks on both sides of the music industry-vs-media field.
Captaining the Rocking Horses (a team filled out with some of the city's finest instrumentalists, singers and other musically inclined types) will be Xavier Poropat, of Eyes Ninety and Eat Laser Scumbag!, while the Brisbane Lines (largely comprised of the legends from 4ZZZ and a ragtag assortment of loveable scribes) are headed up by Zeds and triple j stalwart Stephen Stockwell.
When the game goes down this Sunday, cap'n Poropat will be flanked by his ELS! band mate Ash Timms, also of Nova Scotia, while other players making up the Rocking Horses ranks include Adam Yee, of legendary indie band Smudge, as well as multiple members of several different outfits such as Gazar Strips (Atlas Harwood, Jon Weber), Flangipanis (Jodie Lawlor, Polly Cooke, Paul Duncan), The Ring-Ins (Amy Lane, Sol Robinson), Tits On Strings (Darren McLanders, Kiwi Ropere), Doozy Daze (Jade Watson, Sarah Timson), Scabz (Lara Chrystal, Loz Wylie, Siobhan Poynton) and even celebrated indie label Dew Process (Harry Young, John Mullen), among several other groups and individuals.
The team is co-managed by Adele Wessell and Eric Evans, with Jason 'Evo' Evans serving as coach.

Meanwhile, on the media side — coached by ex-The Music Brisbane editor Steve Bell and co-managed by 4ZZZ's just-departed station manager, Michelle Brown, with QMusic marketing legend Michelle Padovan — it's a largely 4ZZZ-dominated affair; among the station's representatives are Andrew Bartlett, Anthony Hooper, Branko Cosic, Cameron Smith, Domenico Natoli, Dylan Walker, Ian Prideaux, Jakob Rosenblatt, Jayden Andrews, Leon Petrou, Megan Stewart, Melanie Dinjaski (also of Fox Sports Australia), Robert Lugton, Sarah Mullins, Traci Presland and Wave Beach. However, they're not the sole people hitting the field — senator Anthony Chisolm, Double J music editor Dan Condon (also formerly of The Music), interstate community radio rep Kim Tan (2SER/FBi), The Westerner's Lee Oliver and a handful of others round out the Brisbane Lines' ranks.
The 2016 Reclink Australia Community Cup, raising money for Reclink Australia, will be held this Sunday, 25 September, at the Pine Rivers Showground. Gates open at 11.30am; it's pay at the gate, and only $10 to get in (for adults; under-16s $5; under-12s free).
