The Singaporean showcase is being held in the Lion City this week
The dust has barely settled on BIGSOUND but a handful of Aussie artists are about to kick off a whole different week of strutting their stuff to international audiences of professionals and punters alike as part of this year's Music Matters event in Singapore.
The local contingent is led by acclaimed sibling pop-duo The Veronicas, arguably the most high-profile of a cabal that also includes both emergent and established acts such as Slumberjack, Rag N Bone, Maefire, Slip On Stereo, Sydnee Carter and Bad Pony, while our neighbours in New Zealand have sent along celebrated soul singer Aaradhna.
The wider line-up, meanwhile, is filled out by an eclectic range of artits from myriad countries, including Japan (DJ Martin), Hong Kong (Chochukmo, GDJYB, Olivier Cong), Canada (Alex Cuba), Switzerland (Bastian Baker, The Souls), Israel (Garden City Movement), Taiwan (Hush, P!SCO, Sun Of Morning), Thailand (My Life As Ali Thomas, Slot Machine), India (Nucleya, Prateek Kuhad), Philippines (Quest), Indonesia (Raisa, The Trees & The Wild, Theovertunes, Young Lex) and, of course, Singapore (Disco Hue, Doves & Ravens, Linying and The Summer State).
All local acts in Singapore for Music Matters, except for The Veronicas, will perform at Sounds Australia's Aussie BBQ showcase tomorrow, 13 September. Full details for that event, along with the Hong Kong Stage, Indonesia Live and Made In Singapore showcases, are available at the Music Matters website.
