Working class words
Jimmy Barnes is set to publish a "self-penned childhood memoir" titled Working Class Boy.
The Aus star is then set to take the book on the road with his first-ever "spoken word" tour, Working Class Boy: An Evening Of Stories And Songs.
The show will be staged over two acts with a short interval. A press release today stated: "There will be no support band so Jimmy will be onstage from the advertised starting time at all shows."
Barnes has described the tour as being “Just like the book." He added, "This live show will tell the story of an imperfect childhood that has led to me becoming an imperfect adult.

"I spent most of my life running from my childhood and now it seems like my time to face it. So this is the story of a lifetime spent running away. Running from fear. Running from shame but at the same time running from hope. I’m not running anymore."
The tour will kick off in Ballarat on Tuesday 15 November and travel around the country, ending in Geraldton on Saturday 17 December (see all dates below).
Tickets go on sale 10am (local times) on Monday 19 September, the hard cover edition of the book will be released on the same day.
