Yours & Owls To Present First Ever Wollongong Fringe Festival In 2016

Already killing it on the festival front, Yours & Owls and Destination Wollongong are collaborating to present the first ever Wollongong Fringe Festival this year, a nine-day extravaganza of everything culturally excellent about the 'Gong.

Built around the Yours & Owls Festival in early October, the fringe aspects will be "both a celebration of what is going on within Wollongong, and also a perfect platform that allows us to bring some of the most interesting ideas and showcase them to an entirely new audience," says promoter Ben Tillman.

"This is us confirming Wollongong as a creative hub, a travel destination and a city that can and will host an internationally renowned fringe festival – our way!"

Featuring a '90s night hosted by Cheez TV hosts Ryan and Jade, an evening with Dr Karl, a theatrical adaptation of Pat Grant's graphic novel Blue, outdoor cinema screenings of Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino classics, gigs from Into It. Over It., Joseph Tawadros, Moonbase Commander and several tech and art installations.

Wollongong Fringe Festival kicks off on September 23 and runs until 2 October — head here for more details.
