To coincide with the release of his album Things I Carry Around today, multiple ARIA-winning country star Troy Cassar-Daley has announced he'll be heading out on a big tour and dropping a brand new book.

Titled the same as his new album, the book contains honest accounts of his time growing up, meeting musical heroes like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson and kickstarting his three decade career.

Cassar-Daley says, "When writing your life story in a book, you get to take the time to remember the important stuff and be as honest as you can. There is no sugar coating here. This is my story as it stands and as I remember it."

He'll be embarking on a mammoth 36-date tour this month, the tour giving him a bit of break next April but otherwise spanning all the way until July next year. As part of the tour, he'll be playing festivals like Airlie Beach Festival, Deni Ute Muster and the Brisbane Writers Festival.
