Good Boy Are Stuck In The Middle Of Nowhere But At Least They Have Facebook

Correction: "the middle of FUCKING nowhere"

More Good Boy More Good Boy

On the way to Wollongong for a show with Orphans at the Rad Bar this Friday, beloved Brisbane outfit Good Boy have suffered the misfortune of a breakdown "about 50 kays outside of Coffs", they have reported.

How do we know? Because we live in the Blessed Year Of Our Lord 2016, a time in which tattoos are removable, bad eyes are fixable (both of those processes use lasers, no less), and Facebook gifted its users a platform to live-stream video from anywhere in the world, even, as Good Boy put it, "the middle of fucking nowhere".

There's a lot to unpack and love in their little five-minute insight to their peril: the swift leap to blame band member Stuart McKenzie for overheating the engine; McKenzie's clear distaste at being singled out; the Inception-esque attempts at live-streaming ("Stream-ception, boys!"); the appearance of feel-good hashtag #prayforgoodboy; the sudden gloom that sets in upon realising their predicament; frustration over a lack of location to play some roadside footy ("Mate, I've played on worse fields — you ever been to Caboolture?"); the impromptu songwriting session; plus a litany of other quotable quotes, including "We are definitely half-a-carton deep, so feelin' good, feelin' great, how are you?", "What the fuck's FaceTime?", "How's the bloody serenity?" and all manner of other lunacy as the lads devolve into time-killing their way through their wait for the mechanic, who they are sure is on the way.

At the time of writing, it's been 28 minutes since Good Boy became stranded — here's hoping they get sorted out sooner rather than later, because they already seem like they're pretty swiftly approaching their wits' end.

All else being equal, they'll be at Rad Bar this Friday with Orphans, Ugly Mundays and Archie, or Volumes Fest, at Oxford Art Factory, on Saturday. See theGuide for more information.
