Fanning v The Joker.

Legendary Aussie songwriter Bernard Fanning's third solo studio album Civil Dusk is predictably set to burst onto the ARIA Albums Chart somewhere in the top three this week, however it is in serious jeopardy of missing out on top spot thanks to the soundtrack for new Hollywood blockbuster, Suicide Squad

Though the anti-superhero film has been slammed by critics, some calling it the worst film of 2016, it has blitzed the box office and the music for it, which includes tracks from Eminem, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco and Creedence Clearwater Revival to name a few, is apparently doing big things too.

The soundtrack is the top contender for the #1 debut this week and could put a dent in Fanning's hopes for the honours on the back of his previous solo efforts, 2005's Tea & Sympathy and 2013's Departures which both peaked at #1.

The only debuting albums that could shake up the top ten includes Sydney songwriter Montaigne's Glorious HeightsSkillet's Unleashed and the two-CD collection of Elvis Presley recordings, Way Down In The Jungle.
