Aussie, Aussie, Aussie...
While this year's MTV Video Music Awards may be led by some huge international artists, a few Australian acts have done us proud by scoring some handy nominations in the 2016 event.
Pop favourite Sia proved to the best of the bunch, picking up a nomination in the Best Female Video category for her acclaimed track Cheap Thrills alongside big names such as Rihanna and Beyonce.
Meanwhile, Perth-based artist Troye Sivan scored a nod for Breakthrough Long Form Video with his Blue Neighbourhood trilogy and Tame Impala nabbed a spot in the Best Direction category for The Less I Know The Better.
Late iconic UK singer David Bowie also received a handful of nominations for Blackstar (Best Art Direction) and Lazarus (Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing).
