All the Helpmann Award winners announced.

Prince's tour of Australia this past February is considered incredibly special not only because of the glowing reviews the show received, but also because it marked his final performances in the country before his tragic death in April

However, the Australian leg of the music icon's Piano & A Microphone tour has again been recognised, this time at the 2016 Helpmann Awards last night, where it took out the Best International Contemporary Concert gong over other legendary acts including Brian Wilson, Fleetwood Mac and Florence & The Machine.

Meanwhile, MOFO 2016 received the award for Best Australian Contemporary Concert and the WOMADelaide Foundation took out the Best Contemporary Music Festival which went up against Byron Bay's Bluesfest, Laneway and MONA.

Elsewhere, Aussie favourite Tim Minchin scooped up the Best Original Score award for his acclaimed stage play Matilda, which racked up 13 gongs all up, including Best Musical.
